Making a Broadcast Complaint
Te Korimako O Taranaki is committed to broadcasting content that is accurate, fair, and respectful, and that upholds the values of our community. If you believe a programme or broadcast on Te Korimako O Taranaki has not met these standards, you have the right to make a formal complaint.
What You Can Complain About
You may make a complaint if you believe a broadcast breached one or more of the New Zealand broadcasting standards, including (but not limited to):

Accuracy

Fairness

Balance
-
Good taste and decency
-
Discrimination and denigration

Privacy
Complaints must relate specifically to broadcast content (radio or online audio content published by Te Korimako O Taranaki ).
Step 1: Complain to Te Korimako o Taranaki First
Under the Broadcasting Act 1989, you must first make your complaint directly to Te Korimako O Taranaki.
Timeframe

Complaints must be made within 20 working days of the broadcast.
What to Include
Please include the following information:

Your full name and contact details

The name of the programme

The date and time of the broadcast

The specific part of the broadcast you are complaining about

Which broadcasting standard(s) you believe were breached

A brief explanation of your concern

We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to respond within 20 working days, as required by law.
Step 2: If You Are Not Satisfied
If:

You do not receive a response within 20 working days, or

You are dissatisfied with our response,
You may refer your complaint to the Broadcasting Standards Authority (BSA).
Timeframe

You must refer the complaint to the BSA within 20 working days of receiving our final decision.
