Te Korimako o Taranaki 94.8FM

Te Korimako o Taranaki 94.8FM was born in 1992 in the humble beginnings of Titoki on the Bell Street Campus of the Taranaki Polytechnic in New Plymouth. It takes its name from the Korimako Bird (Bellbird) that lives on the ancestral mountain of Taranaki and represents the unique sweet sound it produces.

In 1993 Te Korimako moved to Rangiātea Campus in Ngāmotu (Spotswood).

In late 2006, it purchased a house at 151 Coronation Avenue and built a new studio and production rooms.

Te Korimako o Taranaki is funded by Te Māngāi Pāho – The Māori Broadcasting Funding Agency, by way of the quantity and quality of Māori language and programmes it provides to its predominantly Māori audience.

Te Korimako O Taranaki is the vibrant voice of Taranaki Māori on the airwaves.
